Passionate, dramatic, and vivid are just some of the words used to describe my landscapes. The works have a very strong presence, whether due to dramatic shadows, strong compositions, or vibrant colors. These are landscapes that draw the viewer in to a heightened vision of color and gesture. They depict nature; but more intense; more lush, more dramatic. They go beyond traditional ideas of a green landscape. I tease out the complex colors of the landscape using layers of color, line, and form to build these vibrant paintings and drawings. The works are each a powerful moment from my travels in the everyday landscapes of our world.
